Upside: Animated Poster

This self-driven interactive poster was a result of reflection while exploring the potential of the design process as catharsis. The white typographic elements in the final poster are pulled from a custom generative code written in p5.js.

The copy comes from the idea of "taking the good with the bad," an acknowledgment that our experiences are often complex, messy, and hard to parse. The text was set using the coding language p5.js, and is hosted live on a website. In the interactive starting point, the type begins as fully legible and breaks into waving staggered tiles as a user's cursor or finger moves across the window.

The movement reinforces the idea of highs and lows, ups and downs; the dizzying experience of being. The experimental typography was then layered with references to cargo and packaging to add depth and as a nod to the fact that the poster can be hung in any orientation.
